Stephanie Hansen Appointed NOSORH Education Coordinator

September 22, 2009 -- Sterling Heights, Michigan

The National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health (NOSORH) has appointed Stephanie Hansen to serve as the organization’s first full-time education coordinator. Stephanie officially assumed her responsibilities on Monday, September 21.

Stephanie brings seven years of rural healthcare experience to her new position. Prior to joining NOSORH, she served as health program specialist for the Idaho State Office of Rural Health and Primary Care (Idaho SORH). Stephanie provided program leadership for the Small Hospital Improvement Program and Idaho's grant programs that improve access to healthcare; she also provided program support for the Idaho SORH and Flex grants. Stephanie also has experience planning conferences, supporting rural health clinics and recruiting and retaining healthcare providers.

“Stephanie comes to us ready to support NOSORH’s educational exchange efforts on behalf of State Offices of Rural Health,” notes NOSORH Director Teryl Eisinger. “Her background and experience working with the Idaho State Office of Rural Health and Primary Care make her an ideal fit. She’s a “doer” who has already hit the ground running.

As education coordinator, Stephanie will oversee and provide staff support for the NOSORH’s peer-to-peer learning programs; educational Webinars; NOSORH Leadership Institute; various NOSORH committees; regional/national meetings; and other activities that facilitate the professional and leadership development of State Offices of Rural Health.

“I’m excited to be a part of the NOSORH team and look forward to meeting and working with State Office staffs around the country,” Stephanie says.
