NOSORH Accepting Partnership Champions, 2010 Annual Meeting Host State Proposals

The National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health (NOSORH) has announced two separate calls for proposals for its members and potential partners.

NOSORH is currently accepting letters of interest from State Offices of Rural Health (SORHs) that are interested in hosting the three-day NOSORH Annual Meeting and ORHP Meeting in September or October 2010. The role of the host state is to chair the Annual Meeting planning committee and work with the NOSORH Board, staff and Awards and Executive committees to plan all meeting activities and facilities; facilitate appropriate hospitality for NOSORH members and its guests; and coordinate the selection and purchase of awards for NOSORH members. The host SORH is not required to provide any financial support for the conference; however, it is expected to provide various support services (i.e., staffing the registration desk, operating and providing audio-visual equipment, assisting with room set-up, driving to an activity) during the event.

NOSORH is also currently accepting proposals from its members and potential partners to promote and champion the development of regional/national partnerships that benefit State Offices of Rural Health. Proposals for these awards may include initiatives to strategize more meaningful partnerships to address specific rural health issues and/or increase funding, education, issue definition, mentoring, leadership development or other services which are meaningful to the work of SORHs. Preference will be given to requests which facilitate collaboration for NOSORH’s seven priority areas.

Proposals to serve as the host state for the 2010 Annual Meeting must be submitted by November 13; partnership champion proposals must be submitted by November 20.
