NOSORH Mourns Passing of David Allen Taylor, Sr.

November 18, 2009 -- Sterling Heights, Michigan

It is with heavy hearts that the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health (NOSORH) mourns the loss of David Allen Taylor, Sr., section director for the Arkansas Department of Health, EMS & Trauma Sections, who died suddenly on November 5 at the age of 43. The entire EMS community suffers a tremendous loss when one of our own with so much experience and perspective is taken away.

David Taylor was known for his passion for helping and serving others, his dedication to advancing EMS and his commitment to friends and family. His visionary leadership and constant voice in national forums will be deeply missed but his work will be carried on.

Our sympathies go out to his beloved wife and family, the entire Arkansas EMS family and to the larger EMS community across the country.

The Arkansas EMS Foundation has established a scholarship fund in memory of David. These donations will provide incentives and support to individuals who are pursuing a career in EMS and will serve as another example of the lasting impact David’s life has had on the EMS community.
